About Nuclear Medicine

A full range of services are available in our Nuclear Medicine department. With administration of a small and safe dose of radioactive material, the structure of organs, soft tissues and bones can be evaluated for pathology such as the presence of cancer, infection or fractures. The actual function of various organs such as kidneys, gallbladder, and thyroid can be assessed. Our Nuclear Medicine department also provides SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) which uses advanced multiplanar imaging to accurately study the body from different angles.
